Meet the Founder

Marcy McDowell, is the Founder of Leading Literacy. She has over a decade of experience as an Early Childhood Educator. Her depth of experience and knowledge of implementing high quality instruction for early learners has proven to be the passion behind her dedicated work. She has served as a Primary Classroom Teacher, Literacy Coach/Instructional Specialist, and a Texas Rising Star Mentor.

 

Although she is a proud native from St. Louis, Missouri, she has started to build deep roots in the Texas soil. Working with amazing teachers has led her to create resources that are practical and engaging during literacy development. Leading Literacy creates an environment for teachers, parents, and early learning programs to build on foundational skills for their early learners. These resources are easy to implement within your day to day activities, supplement current curriculum, or review literacy skills with your early learner.

Marcy McDowell has a passion to help others build a strong literacy foundation for children. Leading Literacy was created to serve in many capacities. Currently, buildiing the knowledge within teachers and parents on how to bring relevant, engaging, and the Science of Teaching Reading strategies to literacy development.
